QUALIFICATION

FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

a. Department of Architecture

(i) Professor

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in Architecture or a related discipline with not less than ten (10) years of University teaching and research experience since a becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.
    Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment.
    Candidate must have been registered with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria (AARCHES).

(ii) Associate Professor

    Candidate must have been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three years.
    Professional registration with Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria (AARCHES) is a requirement.

(iv) Lecturer I

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree and doctorate degree in Architecture or a related discipline from a reputable university. In addition, candidates must have at least three four (4) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    Candidate must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence.
    Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is also required in addition to ability to supervise post-graduate students in areas of expertise.
    Candidate must have been a Lecturer II for a minimum of three years Professional registration with Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is a requirement.

(v) Lecturer II

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree and Master degree in Architecture or a related discipline from a reputable university.
    Evidence of publications in reputable journals is an added advantage. Professional registration with Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is a requirement.
    Candidate must also have registered for the Ph.D. programme.

(vi) Assistant Lecturer

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree and Master degree in Architecture or a related discipline. In addition, candidates must have registered for the Ph.D programme.
    Candidate must be registrable with Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

b. Department of Building
(i) Professor (Building)

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree in Building or a related discipline with a Ph.D. in the relevant field such as Construction Management/Technology, Building Services, Building Maintenance, Project Management and Building Economics from a recognised University.
    Candidate must also have at least Ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since a becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    A candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.
    Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment. Professional registration with the Nigerian Institution of Building is a requirement.
    He/She must be able to provide academic leadership.

(ii) Associate Professor (Building)

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree in Building with a Ph.D in relevant field such as Construction Management/Technology, Building Services, Building Maintenance, Project Management and must have at least eight (8) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of three years.

(iii) Senior Lecturer (Building)

(i) Professor (Quantity Surveying)

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Economics together with a Ph.D. in the relevant field such as Construction Management, Building/Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying and Project Management from a recognized University.
    Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    A candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.

    Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment.
    Professional registration with the Nigerian Institution of Quantity Surveying will be an advantage.

(ii) Associate Professor (Quantity Surveying)

    Candidate must demonstrate a clear evidence of good scholarship through academic research publications and must have at least five (5) years of teaching, and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    Candidate must possess evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    Candidate must have been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three years .
    Professional registration with the Nigerian Institution of Quantity Surveying is a requirement

(iv) Lecturer I (Quantity Surveying)

    Evidence of recognized publications is an added advantage.

d. Department of Estate Management
(i) Professor

    Candidates for this post should possess a good first degree in Estate Management with Ph.D. in the same discipline or its equivalent.
    Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of teaching and research experience in since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    A candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.
    Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment. In addition,
    candidates must be corporate members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and be registered with the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria. Specialization in any of the following areas will be an advantage:

i. Property Valuation and Investment Analysis
ii. Land Economy
iii. Property Asset Management
iv. Real Estate Finance and Development
v. Housing
vi. Environmental Valuation

(ii) Associate Professor

    Candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree in Estate Management with Ph.D. in the same or equivalent discipline from a recognised University.
    Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

    Candidate should normally possess a good first degree in Estate Management and a Master degree in Estate Management or its’ equivalent from a reputable university.
    Evidence of publications in reputable peer reviewed academic journals will be an advantage. Also, candidates must possess corporate membership of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, and registration with the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria.
    Candidate must have also registered for the Ph.D. programme.

(v) Assistant Lecturer

    A candidate for this post should possess a good first degree in Estate Management and a M.Sc. degree in the same or equivalent discipline from a recognized University.Candidate must have registered for the Ph.D. programme.
